Bernie would like to see a qualifying race(s) in place of traditional qualifying for 2017. Teams probably wouldn’t be for that, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it as long as the format makes sense. But this is F1 so it will probably be overly complicated and a cluster fuck.

Unfortunately yes. Especially with the current restrictions on power units. It would be an interesting change but I know it will never happen.

The three session format is fine and I have no complaints with it. But if you want to spice that up, qualifying races is the best option. But given the cost and various restrictions on the # of power units and other components able to be used in F1, it would just turn into a shitshow like the elimination BS.
